The lipid profile is used to help determine heart disease risk and to help decide treatment if you are borderline or high risk. Test includes: Cholesterol, HDL (the “good” cholesterol), LDL (the “bad” cholesterol), VLDL, Triglycerides, and the Ratio of Good cholesterol to the total.
